Aspect ratio calculator

Simplify an image’s width-to-height ratio and find a height for a new width.

How to use

Enter original width and height and the required new width. Use positive whole pixels.

Calculation method

w:h ÷ gcd(w,h); h₂ = w₂ × h ÷ w

Example

1920:1080 = 16:9; 1280 → 720

Questions

What should I check?

The new height may be fractional. Round it only when your image editor requires whole pixels.
